On another note, I so have to buy this book. First, I like design patterns, as I find they give us a "language" to communicate ideas better, much like the original design patterns did for architecture. Second, there's a hot girl on the cover. Third, there are hilarious quips on the cover, such as "avoid those embarrassing coupling mistakes", "learn why everything your friends know about Factory Pattern is probably wrong" and, my favourite, "see why Jim's love life improved when he cut down on his inheritance" (hey, both love life improvement and one of my pet peeve, abusive inheritance!). Fourth, my evil twin is recommending it, I have to keep up on his evil deeds!
What, you didn't know pvanhoof, my evil twin? He's a belgian hacker, who followed a more or less similar path as mine, except in a few minor, but important details! For example, while I bike, he skateboards. He's working on configuration systems and a common event loop, but with a different approach. He's a vegetarian, whereas I like my meat. And the usernames... Just too funny!
