That was unexpected...

Sleepy Head
Well, no only did it snow yesterday afternoon (which didn't stay on the ground for long), but seems like it snowed again during the night, and there's a (very thin!) layer of snow over Toulouse this morning. It was cloudy earlier, but now the sun is trying to make an appearance, which will probably put an end to this, but still, was nice to see this morning.

But I totally picked the wrong shoes, for the second day in a row. Damn, I miss my boots. I should try to obtain a pair this weekend, maybe I'll finally go for the synthetic micro-fiber stuff that everyone seems to be swearing on these days. Pfft, progress! And then what, computers that work?

Nowadays, the combat boots the army uses aren't made of leather! I'm told by such characters as cpirate that they protect better against pathogens or something? As a side effect, they're also vegan, so cloquewerk has a pair, for example, and they do look like the real stuff, but I am still skeptical.

Somehow, I got a piece of metal shrapnel embedded in the sole, with a pointy tip protruding inside the boot! Not too comfortable... It might be repairable, but it's looking sketchy...

But just think of all the blood pathogens your feet will be safe from!

Wait....
Well, you can buy one pair of boots, but if you wait snow to use them, it is likely that you will use them next year !
Toulouse is not a great place for those who like playing with snwoballs.

Re: Wait....
Well, they're not mere ordinary winter boots, though, they're good, military-spec, all-weather combat boots, which I wore even during summer sometimes (when it rained, say). The day I wrote this, the snow had melted to make a puddle of mud on the path to the train station, and I felt like a dainty-footed fairy with my pretty little shoes.

I still remember getting them! :-)
